Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

  • Manuscript Submission: Manuscripts can be submitted online at the journal's website.
  • Article Types: The journal publishes research articles, review articles, short communications, and commentaries.
  • Length: Research articles should be between 4,000 and 8,000 words, excluding tables and figures. Review articles should be between 8,000 and 12,000 words. Short communications should be between 1,000 and 2,000 words. Commentaries should be between 500 and 1,000 words.
  • Formatting: Manuscripts should be formatted according to the journal's style guide, which can be found on the journal's website.
  • Plagiarism: All manuscripts must be checked for plagiarism before submission.
  • Ethics: All manuscripts must be submitted with a statement of ethical approval, if applicable.
  • Review Process: All manuscripts are peer-reviewed by two independent reviewers.
  • Publication: Accepted manuscripts are published online on a rolling basis.
